As the wildflowers bloom so do the announcements of who's playing at the 2016 Bloomin' Temple Fest in late April. With lots to do for everyone of all ages, the music stage is the one place all can come together and enjoy an evening.
The City of Temple and Temple Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce that Red Dirt/Texas Country star, Stoney LaRue, will perform as Friday’s headlining musical act at the 11th Annual Bloomin’ Temple Festival presented by H-E-B.
Known for his real life, thinking man’s music, LaRue has sold over a million records over the course of a 15 year career and plays over 200 shows each year. His songs have seen the top of the charts, most recently his 2014 hit, Golden Shackles. One Chord Song, Oklahoma Breakdown, Feet Don’t Touch The Ground, and Down in Flames are just a few of the other hits Stoney LaRue has recorded. His latest album, Us Time, is a collection of songs reflecting on his own dreams that he openly shares with his longtime fans.
LaRue says, “Being able to record such timeless songs as “Empty Glass,” “Into the Mystic” and “Wichita Lineman” aside from some original tunes, all selected by my fans make me feel validated as an artist and hopefully it gives the fans exactly what they are looking for.”
Opening the show for Stoney LaRue will be Restless Heart and local musicians, The Brett Hendrix Band. Saturday night Neal McCoy is the headlining act.
