Resolve to begin 2016 in motion at the 3rd Annual Arches Resolution 5K taking place Saturday, January 9th, 2016. This year’s event has moved to a later start time of 2:00 p.m.
"This 5K event provides the perfect opportunity for people who made New Year's resolutions to get active and be healthy", said Tracy Klusacek, Temple Parks and Recreation Athletics Coordinator. “Walkers and runners of all abilities are welcome. Whether you are a veteran runner or a beginner, this is a great event for everyone.”
Preregistration is $20 and closes January 3rd. Race day registration is $25 and will be available from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Lions Park (4320 Lions Park Road). The event is chip timed and access to professional race photos is included. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as to individuals who finish in the top three in their respective age groups. Water stations will be placed throughout the course with refreshments at the finish line.
“We want to encourage people to get outside and get moving", said Lynn Reichl, owner of Arches Footcare, a specialty shoe store in Temple. "We are excited to be involved with this annual 5K event and look forward to actively starting 2016.”
