Proceeds to benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer. Multiple Myeloma is the second most common blood cancer in the world and is incurable. MMRF’s mission is to accelerate the development of treatment to extend the lives of patients. I became involved with the organization after my husband was diagnosed with a plasmocytoma in his hip. It is a form of blood cancer that typically develops into MM. My thinking was if I can raise awareness and money for research, I would be investing in my husband’s future. Luckily, his cancer has been in remission. However, a dear friend of ours lost his 2 year battle in March 2018. His battle only drove me more to advocate for the organization.
