IResolve Challenge 1,000,000 Step Challenge
An event every day that begins at 12:00am, repeating until January 13, 2019
As a part of the Live Well Initiative, the Temple Convention & Visitors Bureau is challenging the entire community to get 1,000,000 steps in January. Participants will be encouraged to explore Temple’s many beautiful walking trails and parks, then log their steps using the iResolve Challenge on the HealthCode.org website.
Walking 30 minutes every day has a big impact on overall health and wellbeing. According to Prevention Magazine, spending this short time each day will provide the following benefits:
Improved overall mood
Increase in creativity and higher brain function
Decreased risk of chronic disease
Better digestive system
Achieving this goal will make all others seem reachable!
“We hope that the entire community will embrace this challenge,” said Nancy Glover, CVB Director. “This is the perfect New Year challenge, and we think Temple is ready to tackle it!”
Participants in the challenge will also be encourage to take part in the Annual Resolution Run 5K on January 12 2019, or to just jump on a treadmill at any of the many fitness facility in Temple.
Once the steps are taken, participants are encouraged to total number of steps each day, week or at the end of the month by visiting the HealthCode.org website or by linking your Fitbit or other fitness tracker to automatically log your activities. The step log will be accessible from the event tab of the CVB Facebook Page – or by visiting our website at www.discovertemple.com. It is free to participate, however donations to the non-profit that runs the challenge are appreciated.
