The flavors of the Caribbean meet transcontinental fare at The Shack Caribbean Grill in Harker Heights.
Growing up as children in the small town of Juana Diaz on Puerto Rico’s southern coast, both Javier and Sharon Munoz’s love of food was instilled in them by their parents. “Our parents put the love into the food”, Javier said. “It didn’t matter if there was five or fifteen neighborhood kids at the house. If it was dinner time, everyone got fed.” Their parents made sure they both grew up believing you never deny serving a plate of food to anyone.

Having recently retired after 20 years of service to his country, Javier and the Munoz family settled down in Killeen to follow their dream of owning a restaurant that not only served the traditional caribbean cuisine they grew up with, but also offered fare that infused the flavors of other cultures they had experienced in their world travels.
The Shack uses locally sourced ingredients as much as possible to offer the best flavor and quality to every one of their handmade meals.
